Belongix ("we", "us", "our") is an Indian career platform operated by Team Belongix, helping job seekers find opportunities, upskill, and get AI-powered career guidance.

📋 What Data We Collect

Account data: Name, email address, password (encrypted), phone number (optional).

Profile data: Work experience, skills, education, resume, city, job preferences — only what you choose to add.

Usage data: Pages visited, jobs applied to, courses started, Bexi AI conversations — used to improve your experience.

Payment data: We use Razorpay for payments. We do not store your card details — Razorpay handles all payment data securely.

Device data: Browser type, IP address, device type — collected automatically for security and analytics.

🔗 Who We Share Data With

Supabase: Our database and authentication provider (servers in EU/US).

Razorpay: Payment processing (RBI-regulated, India).

Anthropic: Powers Bexi AI. Your career questions are sent to Claude API — no personally identifying data is shared.

EmailJS: Sends transactional emails (job alerts, welcome emails).

Vercel: Our hosting provider.

All third-party providers are contractually bound to protect your data and cannot use it for their own purposes.

We use minimal cookies and localStorage for:

• Keeping you logged in (authentication token)
• Remembering your preferences (anonymous mode, job filters)
• Career score and course progress tracking

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

🔒 How We Protect Your Data

• All data transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption)
• Passwords hashed and never stored in plain text
• Database access controlled by Row Level Security (RLS)
• API keys stored as encrypted secrets, never in frontend code
• Regular security reviews of our codebase

⏳ How Long We Keep Your Data

Account data: Until you delete your account.

Application history: 2 years, then anonymised.

Bexi AI conversations: Not stored permanently — session only.

Payment records: 7 years (required by Indian tax law).

✊ Your Rights (DPDPA 2023)

• Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Correction: Update incorrect or incomplete data
• Erasure: Delete your account and all associated data
• Portability: Export your data in a readable format
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from emails at any time
• Withdraw consent: Stop processing at any time (may affect service)

👶 Children's Privacy

Belongix is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us immediately and we will delete the account.

Your data may be processed on servers outside India (EU, US) by our service providers (Supabase, Vercel). These transfers are governed by standard contractual clauses ensuring your data is protected to Indian standards.

📝 Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our platform grows. We will notify you by email and show a banner on the platform if there are significant changes. Continued use of Belongix after changes means you accept the updated policy.
